Towards Estimation of Education Wealth

Investment in education is well recognized as the major or primary investment for most families in the world. This investment is in an asset, and one that yields a constant flow of income, i.e., acquisition of education is acquisition of wealth. This paper presents first time estimates of the wealth embedded in education for 184 countries for the time-period 1870 to 1916, and projections till 2030. For 2016, wealth in education is estimated to be US$ 330 trillion, well above financial (and land) wealth estimated by Credit Suisse at US$ 246 trillion.
